“Rogneda” is a medium-late variety, on average, 115-120 days pass from the appearance of the main shoots to technical maturity.

The technical maturity of the potato means that the tubers are suitable for storage, have a dense skin (although it is possible to eat the tubers of conditional maturity - with a thin, lagging peel).

The bush is large, tall, half-upright. It has leaves of intermediate type, typical for potato in shape, wrinkled in structure, without pubescence, weakly wavy at the edges. Leaf sizes are medium, color is light green (green). It has a floral halo of medium size, color - white (low content of anthocyanins - substances that determine color).

Description of root:

  1. Peel - pale - yellow (sand), dense, smooth.

  3. The color of the pulp - cream.
  4. Form - oval, rounded - oblong.

Rogneda is a table variety, intended for human consumption after heat treatment, and there are a great many recipes for potato dishes. Useful substances will remain in full when cooking potatoes in their skins ("in uniform").

Only root crops with a dense (solid) consistency can be eaten, shriveled tubers are suitable for food, but they will not bring any benefit.

Taste qualities

Potatoes variety "Rogneda" has good taste - not very sweet, well boiled soft. Yellow varieties contain a lot of vitamins, to a greater extent - carotene (antioxidant), because of it the tubers are yellow.

Variety characteristics and cultivation features

Seed potatoes for planting are usually taken from last year's harvest or purchased in stores. Rogned potatoes are planted in May in any type of soil to a depth of about 7 cm with a distance between plants of 20 cm, sometimes less or more, depending on the region.

Also, on the advice of experienced gardeners, “Rogned” should be planted less frequently than other varieties because of the well-developed numerous root vegetables. The method of planting is in furrows or in individual cavities in open ground.

Potatoes respond well to rested land (where a year or two sowed mustard or rye, other perennial or annual plants, grains - legumes) or new plowed plots.

“Rogned” should be loosened and spud several times during the season, fertilized with mineral fertilizers, weed as needed. In a dry summer, some watering is necessary, infrequently and not abundant, the variety has resistance to drought.
