American scientists have figured out how plant immunity works.

Based on these data, scientists can create even more advanced models of genetically modified products that can tolerate frosts, heat and lack of moisture. To test the immune response of the plant, scientists launched a foreign molecule inside the body.

The plant's defense system is based on the ATP molecule, or adenosine-5-triphosphate, the most important component of intracellular metabolism. Outside the cell, ATP serves as a signaling molecule that triggers an immune response when invading alien microorganisms. Scientists launched an immune response in plants, and then traced the signal path to the chemical receptors. This allowed us to map the chemical reactions with which plants react to infections.

Such studies, according to experts, will be able to improve the catastrophic situation with agriculture and crops in the United States.
