What is "Biovit-80": composition and type of release
Means represents homogeneous friable powder of brown color. There is a light and dark shade. It is obtained by treating the culture fluid Streptomyces aureofaciens, which is the source of chlortetracycline. It does not dissolve in water.

Biovit enters the body through food. Chlortetracycline affects various microorganisms (both gram-positive and gram-negative), inhibiting their growth and development. But the drug is practically not effective against acid-resistant bacteria, fungal and viral diseases.

Indications for use
"Biovit-80" is used in veterinary medicine for the treatment and prevention of farm animals, fur-bearing animals, rabbits, such as pasteurellosis, colibacteriosis, salmonellosis, leptospirosis, listeriosis, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and lungs, bacterial etiology; against ornithosis in birds, cholera, coccidiosis. "Biovit" is also useful for accelerating the development of young animals: calves, piglets, chickens.
"Biovit-80" is also used to prevent diseases of cows, rabbits, turkeys, chickens and geese.

For the purpose of treatment, the drug is applied twice a day and further for 3 days after the cessation of symptoms of the disease.
For prophylaxis, it is enough to give 1 time per day for 5-20 days depending on the desired result.

Contraindications and possible side effects
"Biovit" is not an allergen, a negative reaction to the drug is possible due to individual intolerance. With prolonged treatment or violation of the dosage may be an upset stomach, eczema, liver damage, stomatitis, loss of appetite. It is not recommended to conduct a long course of treatment for pregnant animals.
Cautions: special instructions
Eating meat of animals and birds, like milk, eggs, can only be 6 days after the end of the use of the drug. Animals killed before the end of the term are disposed of depending on the decision of the veterinarian. Do not use with other antibiotics.
The best breeds of animals for breeding for meat: sheep, cows, pigs, rabbits, chickens, pigeons.
Term and storage conditions
The drug should be kept in a dry, dark place without access for children and animals at a temperature of -20 to 37 ºС. Store separately with food (list B). Shelf life - 1 year.
Important! The drug is able to lose its properties at high temperatures, so it is not recommended to add to hot food, to conduct any heat treatment. It should be mixed well.
