In 2016, Ukrainian agricultural exports exceeded $ 15 billion

According to the State Statistics Service, in 2016, Ukraine exported agricultural products worth $ 15.2 billion, which is $ 4 billion more compared to 2015, reports the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on February 16. In addition, the share of agricultural products in total exports of the country amounted to 42%.

In particular, the supply of fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin showed the most significant growth compared with the previous year - up to 20%. The reporting of sales of goods reached nearly 4 billion dollars. As a rule, crop production forms more than $ 8 billion in total exports of Ukrainian agricultural products, including the supply of grain crops, which amounted to $ 6 billion.

At the same time, Ukraine exported finished foods for $ 2.45 billion, live animals and animal products - for $ 0.78 billion. In addition, in 2016, Ukraine imported agricultural products for 3.89 billion dollars, which is 0.59 billion dollars more compared to the figure for 2015. In particular, imports of live animals and animal products reached $ 0.62 billion, crop production - $ 1.3 billion, animal and vegetable fats and oils - $ 0.25 billion, and finished food products - 1.7 billion dollars.

As a result, in 2016, the balance of foreign trade in agricultural products amounted to +11.4 billion dollars.
