According to data provided by analysts of APK-Inform, during the first four months of 2016-2017 (September-December), Russia exported a record amount of sunflower oil - 704 thousand tons (including to the countries of the Customs Union), and this shows an increase of 1, 5 times compared with the same period last season (458 thousand tons).
At the same time, Turkey became the main importer of Russian sunflower oil in the reporting period, and acquired 35% of product deliveries. In addition, Egypt (14%), Iran (9%), Uzbekistan (6%), China (4%) and others are included in the list of main buyers. At the same time, the countries of the Customs Union acquired 12% of the total exports of Russian sunflower oil.
Thus, analysts of APK-Inform predicted that in 2016-2017, the total export of sunflower oil from Russia will beat another record and reach a volume of 1.85 million tons, mainly due to the growth in domestic volumes of oilseeds.
