Ukraine is increasing imports of frozen vegetables

During the first three months of this year, Ukraine exported 2.4 thousand frozen vegetables, which is 3.7% less than in the same period of 2018. At the same time, imports of this product increased by 7.9% and amounted to 2.99 thousand tons.

In 2018, Ukraine sold 8.34 thousand tons of frozen vegetables abroad. This is 1.8% more than in 2017. The country exported most of the products to Belarus and Poland. Belarus bought 38.4% in Ukraine, and Poland - 35.93% of the total volume of exported frozen vegetables.

Over the past three years, not only export growth has been observed, but also an increase in imports of frozen vegetables. If to compare with 2017, then in 2018 the growth was 53.1%. More than 85% of all frozen vegetables enter the Ukrainian markets from Poland. Belgium is also a regular supplier of vegetable products to Ukraine.

Last year, Ukraine imported mainly Polish vegetable mixtures - 30.5%, frozen beans - 26.6%, New Zealand spinach and quinoa - 16.2%.
