In Germany, there is no more fur production: the last mink farm closed

The last fur mink farm in Germany existed in the city of Raden. It was recently closed.

The reason for the collapse of the animal farm was the growing pressure from animal welfare organizations. In March of this year, a stunning video hit the network, recording the conditions in which the animals of this farm lived. The animals lived in small cages and suffered from thirst. Video posted on public display on the page of the Bureau of Animal Welfare.

The founder of the fur farm said that he had been breeding fur-bearing animals for 20 years and was forced to abandon the case due to the censure of society and careful veterinary checks.

The entrepreneur stressed that if his animals were sick, he could not have realized their fur. In 2017, the new law regulating the conditions of keeping animals on fur farms became so strict that the fur business was unprofitable. In 2018, fashion houses began to abandon the fur of fur animals everywhere with the release of outfits and accessories.
