Two farms in the region — Yaik LLC, Kizilsky District, and Sovkhoz Bredinsky LLC — have already tested the planting of such wheat last year. 
The farmers of Chelyabinsk have taken this idea to attention, having decided to test it this year. It should be noted that the Chelyabinsk region occupies a leading position in the production of pasta in the country. In terms of production, only Orenburg surpasses the Chelyabinsk region in terms of production.
The varieties of durum wheat of the Russian breeding, although adapted to local climatic conditions and tolerate moisture deficiency well, still lag behind foreign ones in terms of quality.
