Highly productive hybrid cross-breeding chickens Avicolor

Chickens hybrid cross Avicolor are meat and egg breeds of poultry. They are great for growing meat, but their egg production remains at a fairly good level.

They also get along well in any conditions of detention, so Avicolors can often be found on private farmsteads.

This hybrid cross was developed by Ukrainian specialists at the Pologovsky incubator station.

To obtain the breed, breeders used highly productive native chickens and meat and egg crosses, such as Super Harco.

As a result, the breeders obtained a breed that is able to carry eggs equally well and gain muscle mass.

Now the breed is quite popular in Ukraine. It can be found on any private farmsteads, as poultry lovers have appreciated the features of the breed. Unfortunately, in Russia, almost no one is breeding this breed.

Breed description Avicolor

The body of Avikolor roosters is very strong and massive, has the shape of a flattened cylinder.

The body has abundant plumage, which protects the bird well during the cold weather. The neck is of medium length with lush plumage, falling on the shoulders of Avicolor.

The neck smoothly passes into the back, which is at a small angle relative to the body. The shoulders are large and wide, the wings tightly pressed against the body of the rooster. Their ends are partially covered with long lumbar plumage, falling down from the back of the rooster.

The tail is set high, but its size is not very large. It grows medium length rounded braids, painted in dark colors with a slight interspersion of light shades. The chest is planted deeply and widely, the belly is large, but in the Avicolor roosters, it looks slender due to the tightness.

Abundant plumage almost completely hides the legs of Avicolors. Hocks are massive, thick-boned. Usually they are painted in light yellow color. The fingers are spaced evenly and wide.

The hens of this breed have a horizontal back, which has a slight bias towards the tail. The tail itself is small, look down a little. On a reduced crest of a chicken, teeth and cuts are hardly visible. Chicken ear lobes may be brown.

Features

Farmers are immediately struck by the fact that this breed can be grown both for meat and for eggs.

According to rough estimates by experienced breeders, Avicolor has the same egg and meat productivity. For this reason, not only large poultry farms, but also private breeders who own small farms try to breed the breed.

The carcass of this breed produces excellent meat.which does not lose its taste even after cooking on the grill. As for egg productivity, layers can easily bring more than 300 eggs a year to their owner.

Chickens breed Avicolor can be kept in a large chicken farm, as well as in normal "village" conditions. The fact is that because of the calm nature of these birds are well tolerated content in close cages and cages, and on the run feel even better. Because of this, Avicolors are actively grown on the territory of large farms and in some private owners.

The hens of this breed are very well developed maternal instinct. As a rule, Avicolors themselves sit on the eggs and independently produce chickens. The owner of the livestock may not even monitor the condition of the young stock, since hens always know what to do. However, cultivation in incubators is also valid for this breed.

Young Avikolorov is characterized by rapid growth and the same rapid fledging. This significantly reduces the risk of death of the young during their rearing in inappropriate conditions. Feathers of adult birds reliably protect chickens from the cold, making them more durable. Feeding of young stock always takes place with the help of ordinary household grain mixes.

Unfortunately, during the usual "village" content this breed of chickens can rarely achieve maximum productivity. Often breeders completely forget about the needs of chickens, giving them the cheapest food. Of course, on this feed birds will be able to gain weight, but clearly not as big as in professional feed.

Content and cultivation

Avicolors are not demanding of conditions of detention. As mentioned above, they feel great both on free-range and in close poultry houses.

The calm nature of the bird allows the owners of the farmstead to keep it in the same house with other pets, without fear of possible conflicts.

Feed Avikolorov need in the same way as other meat and egg chickens. Any protein feed is ideal for them.. It is on them that chickens quickly gain the weight they need for slaughtering, and earlier they start laying eggs.

It should be understood that during feeding with ordinary household food, birds often do not gain the weight declared by breeders, therefore for greater effect you need to buy professional mash.

If the farmer does not have extra funds to buy food, you can add boiled eggs to regular household food. They will be the perfect source of protein for all chicken herds.

Many breeders Avikolorov noticed that their egg production significantly increased, subject to the correct light regime. That is why the birds need to be periodically released into the yard, so that they can breathe fresh air.

In winter, special lamps can be used as a light source. With their help, you can easily adjust the length of daylight, but in no case can not artificially increase the day. In the future, this may lead to the complete depletion of layers and to the refusal to lay eggs.

Specifications

The total mass of Avicolor roosters can vary from 2.5 to 3 kg. Laying hens of this breed can gain a mass of up to 2.5 kg. At the age of 28 days, chickens reach a mass of 700 g, and already at the age of 42 days - 1300 g.

Chickens of this breed begin the first egg-laying at the age of 3.5 months. On average, they can lay more than 300 eggs in the first year of production. Each egg in the Avikolorov clutch weighs 50 g, but for incubation it is better to choose the largest specimens.

Analogs

Analogue of the breed can be called chick Harka. They also belong to the meat-and-egg type of productivity.

Perfectly tolerate the content in any conditions, without stopping the laying of eggs. Harki are especially popular on the territory of Ukraine, where almost all large enterprises are engaged in breeding.

Conclusion

Avikolor meat-egg chickens are an ideal solution for a farmer who wants to simultaneously receive a large number of large eggs, as well as high-quality meat.

These birds easily tolerate their keeping in cages or close poultry houses; therefore, they can be bred on an industrial scale.
