Tips gardeners when it is better to plant the seeds of Margilan radish in open ground and in the greenhouse

Radish as a vegetable is not the last place among other garden crops. If we talk about the time of sowing, it is determined by the characteristics of the variety.

So, early varieties are sown in March. Varieties eaten in summer are larger. They are planted in April or May.

Autumn varieties are planted at the beginning of July, while winter varieties that can be stored are planted no later than June 20, as their roots should be given the opportunity to fully ripen.

The importance of timely planting root

Like other types of plants, the Chinese Lobo radish can be planted both in open ground and in the greenhouse. It is very important to choose the time of this crop. Total planting dates are determined by the direct variety. After all, they are all different in terms of precocity and ripening of fruits. It is also important to plant the plant at the required temperature.

If this is not done, then you will have dire consequences. You can take care of the plant all the time, but because of the untimely planting, the radish will not give the crop that you would like, and you will simply waste your time.

What determines the time of sowing seeds?

Two main factors affect the duration of seeds entering the soil. First of all, it is the period of ripening of the plant. The second factor is the immediate climate in a particular area. Often, in our climate, sowing can be carried out in two different periods.
  • The first term when sowing seeds is spring. It is necessary to sow radish in the second half of spring, from the end of April to the end of May.
  • The second term is already summer. Here the duration is much longer. It can begin in the month of July and last until August, although some experts note that the crop has been sown even in the month of September. Most people sow in the summer, because in this case, the radish will not begin to bloom earlier than the designated time. And worry about the fact that the fruit does not have time to gain size, not worth it.

If you wish to plant in a greenhouse, then the timing is completely opposite.

  1. Sowing can be carried out starting from February and ending with the dates of sowing in open ground.
  2. The second term begins in the month of October. In such cases, the harvest will be in April or June.

Difference for greenhouse and open field

Most favorable temperature for the growth of such a vegetable is 18 - 20 degrees above zero. With such parameters, growth increases significantly. But sprout germinating, starting at four degrees above zero. Therefore, radish and can be planted so early.

But often in our climate, this temperature is kept very little, it is either too low, or much higher than these figures. In this case, flower stalks begin to grow, which negatively affects the fruiting of the plant.

  1. A distinctive feature between planting in open ground and in the greenhouse is the difference in the time of year. Radish is planted in the greenhouse in order to be eaten in early spring. In the greenhouse, you can grow various types of plants, as there is maintained a favorable temperature all year round. The most suitable temperature for growing this crop is about 20 degrees.
  2. Also, the difference of sowing is in the processing of the soil. To sow vegetable seeds in open ground requires much more work, since the soil needs to be fertilized in the autumn, given that the planting will be at the end of May. In the case of a greenhouse, fertilizers are applied to the soil right before the direct planting.

Landing time in different regions of Russia

In the Urals

Radish is called a long day vegetable. With the standard climate for this plant, sowing is carried out in the middle or at the end of spring, but in other territories these periods slightly shift.

For example, in the Urals, sowing moves forward. To plant Margilan radish in this case should be in the second half of the summer. This is justified by the fact that such a culture in the conditions of a 10-hour day will not so strongly develop its vegetative shoots, which means that all fertilizers, vitamins will go directly to the root, that is, to the fruit.

In Moscow region (middle lane)

It is the territory of the Moscow region that is most favorable for the cultivation of radish in Russia.

Here the climate prevails more moderate, and the way of leaving and sowing is standard. I.e, sowing in open ground is carried out at a temperature of 19-22 degrees. It is better to sow a little later, so that the shoots do not give out their shoots, and the nutrients do not reach the fruit.

These are small tricks that will allow you to achieve the most favorable result.

In Siberia

Despite the fact that there are cold regions in the Russian Federation, people there also want to grow plants. The variety of Margilan radish is quite realistic to plant and grow in Siberia. Seeds of such a culture are able to germinate qualitatively through the ground, even at minimal, but still positive temperatures.

On such an area, many experts advise to use an early landing compared to the standard. In this case residents will be able to get a harvest before the onset of severe frost.

We have reviewed in detail the timing of sowing Margilan radish. As you can see, in a temperate climate, cooler or hot, plants can be grown. In any case, we need both theory and practice. Only having studied the theory in detail, you will be able to get enough fruits in practice.
